I am truly sorry for our loss of Win. He was a good man who loved his family and they him. I am happy that Win and Virginia have returned home to be close to the farm. And, they have returned home to our maker. Our prayers are for Win and Virginia and their family. We are less without them but we are more because of them.

Win is one of my favorite guys. I met him and Virginia when I was working at Clearwater Springs - and he quickly became one of my most favorite residents. He could grin better than anyone else - and he always had a twinkle in his eyes. Win loved his family and was so very proud of each member. AND, he had wisdom and could discern things without having them fully explained - a really smart man. Win and I shared a passion for great tasting ice cream...none of this cheap stuff - both of us loved quality cream. Win was such a passionate caregiver for his wife - simply loving and amazing is how I would describe his love for Virginia. I'll never forget the day that Mark and Win took me for a ride in Win's prized antique car...it was so much fun to see the two old boys in the front seat sitting up proud and tall and enjoying the ride as the sun hit Win's head and Mark's hat. Win will be missed by all - including me for his footprint made a big indent on my heart. Blessings to all, Deb

Winthrop Haslam Shaw of Dracut, Massachusetts, died in his sleep in Vancouver, WA August 30, at age 94. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Ruth Shaw, his brother Warren Sr. and his sister Eleanor Shaw Huse. Their son Mark Shaw of Vancouver, WA and two daughters Lorna Zurilgen of Fresno, CA and Barbara Harrison of Campbell, CA gave them nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
“Win” was born and raised at Shaw Farm in Dracut, MA and worked on the farm until his asthma forced him to move his family to California in 1949. He continued working in several dairy equipment and supply businesses until he retired in 1992. Win & Virginia traveled to Europe, Australia, England, Ireland and all over the US and Canada. In their later years, they enjoyed many antique car tours with the Horseless Carriage Club of America with their 1913 Buick. Win and Virginia will be laid to rest with a family graveside service near Shaw Farm on Saturday October 1st 2016.
