Happy 1st heavenly birthday dad. I know grandma Grammy is still chasing you & uncle Chuck around up there. We all know how much trouble you two can cause together. Borrowing cars is still stealing them even if you bought them back sometimes lol. I spent some time this morning walking down by the Columbia river where you used to take me to walk or take the boat out years ago. I feel close to you there just like Long Beach. I’m sure your celebrating with all your loved ones who went home before you today. As always give Mathew a hug for me. Love you Dad.

We were together 30 years ago, to know Bill is to love him, I always will and he loved me too. Dolly Parton said it all in her song, “I will always love you”. Bill never knew it but I never stopped caring for him all those years in between, I was always wondering where is he, what is he doing and so on. Our life’s came back together when he made that so important call to me July 15, 2019, not that I’m keeping track :). He always had that sense of humor and sure enough the message he left was just that. “I’m looking for my XXXX girlfriend, her name is Laurie”, I’m not sure if he had enough X in there but close enough…lol. He had that big laugh, voice and smile, you never forgot, that’s what I remembered then and he still had it, I will truly miss all of these and the beautiful blue eyes. I’m so happy that I was a part of his life again, it just didn’t last long enough, sometime was better than no time. For those that knew him, he would act kind of like a tough guy but deep down he had a loving, caring soft side. In Bill’s room the family had posted a cool sign that said “Admit It Life Would Be Boring Without Me”, they got that right. It’s always tough to lose a loved one but life does go on. I want to thank Bills family for all there kindness, for accepting me as a part of their family and honoring all of Bills wishes. They said to me which really meant a lot “You ARE a part of our crazy family now, like it or not”, I replied back with “So you know how crazy I am right?” that’s another funny story. He is now my guardian angel, I can use all the help I can get, thanks Bill.
