Lowell Henry Thomas November 8, 1946 ~ February 7, 2015 Lowell Henry Thomas was born Nov. 8, 1946 in Coquille, Or. and passed on Feb. 7, 2015 in Vancouver, Wa. Lowell had been a truck driver for almost 50 years. He was 17 and working in the woods in Brookings, Oregon when John Milam offered to show him how to drive a truck. Lowell always said "Once I was behind the wheel of a truck, I knew I was never going back to anything else." He never did. He drove over 5 million accident free miles, received numerous "Safety Awards" and certificates for "Driver if the Year" from numerous companies. When he parked his truck for the last time he left knowing that he was one of the "Best of the Best" drivers to ever get behind the wheel of a truck. He drove for West Coast, Joe Costa, Herron, Gordon, Interstate, Portco and Walmart. As proud as he was of his driving he had even more pride and love for his children. His son John Thomas of Washougal, WA, daughters: Tracey Leonard her husband Steve Leonard of Washougal, Wa and Tracey's mother Linda Hall, Kelli Thomas of Huntsville, Alabama, and Lynnette Carleen Heckman of Sandy Lake, PA, and their mother Lynnette Parnham Lynch. His 8 grandchildren, John Thomas, Jr, Gunner Thomas, Dante Thomas, Marquez Cosby, Jayden Cosby, Brynn Heckman, Brycen Heckman and Corbin Leonard who all knew that "Grampy" loved them. He is also survived by his sister Rosemarie (Susie) Kelly in Roseberg Or., his brothers John Thomas of Roseberg, Or., Jim and Arlene Thomas of Olympia, Wa. and Ben and Sheron Thomas of Ninchik, Alaska., and step-brothers Bud Evens and Bill Evens of Brookings Oregon. Many nieces, nephews and cousins who cared very deeply for him. His parents Ben and Jessie (Landerking) Thomas preceded him in death. Lowell left us with his legacy of Honesty, Hard Work, Pride and Love for his family and friends.
