Virginia ‘Gina’ Vincentia Darst was born in Oakland, Ca. on December 8th, 1958, the eldest daughter to George and Vincentia ‘Metzie’ Patterson.
On June 20th, 1978 Gina married her soul mate, Harvey Allen Darst III ‘Sonny’, and they made their home in Anacortes, Wa. Gina and Sonny were blessed with three children; daughter Selene, sons Sean and Allen.
Gina was a devoted mother and a cherished wife, she was loved and adored by a large family and many friends. Gina was an avid gardener who loved nature and all the wonders it had to offer. She was a voracious reader who loved to laugh and possessed an amazing sense of humor.
Gina passed away on October 16th, 2016 after bravely battling a long illness. Gina is survived by her sons Allen and Sean (Deanna); Granddaughter Aleigha; Sisters Lori and Julie (Terrance), brother Wes; and Mother Metzie. Her passing has been felt by everyone she loved and she will be sorely missed.
Gina’s husband (2016) and daughter Selene (1979) preceded her, in their passing, and are now reunited once again.
