DAVID E. KONN, M.D.
David E. Konn, M.D. died on August 20, 2016 after a short illness. He was born in
Portland, OR on August 10, 1943 to Bernard and Vesta (Unican) Conn. After
graduating from Jefferson High School in Portland, he enlisted in the U.S. Army for 3
years and was stationed at a missile base on Long Island, New York.
Dave was a graduate of Portland State U and the University of Oregon Medical
School. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Portland’s Emanuel
Hospital, as well as a Cardiology Fellowship at Huntington Beach Memorial Hospital
in Pasadena, CA. He practiced cardiology in Pasadena and Portland before opening
Grays Harbor Heart Clinic in Aberdeen, WA in 1987. As a dedicated physician and

Dave was something of a “Renaissance Man” whose interests included keeping
abreast of current events, hunting and fishing, vegetable gardens and gourmet
cooking, high performance cars and fishing boats, and electronics, including building

collection played on an impressive array of stereo components.
Dave will be remembered for his kindness and generosity toward patients, friends
and family. His quick wit and brilliant mind attracted and delighted both his friends
and strangers from all walks of life.
Dave is survived by his wife, Cheryl Konn, in Vancouver and stepchildren: Stacie
(Chris) Barnum of Aberdeen, Brenda Blancas of Montesano, and Arnel (Kim)
Blancas, and granddaughters, Hailey and Makena, of Montesano.
He is also survived by a son, Eric Feller, of California and a sister, Janice McClure, of
Idaho. A brother, Robert, died before him.
