Cecil D. Davies
January 21, 1930 – January 23, 2015
Cecil passed away at home just two days after turning 85. Born in Kansas, he worked on the family farm, then attended Highland Jr. College. In 1951 he joined the US Navy. He later enrolled at Kansas State University. He graduated in 1958 with an Engineering degree, then moved to the Northwest to work with the US Forest Service. He had a 35 year career working in Oregon and Washington.
Cecil was active in his church, Community of Christ, dedicated to improvements at the Lewis River Campground, and enjoyed pie making for the Clark County Fair.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Davies. His children (& spouses): Deborah & Keith Petrie, Valerie Hogan & Chris Baumann, Laura & Christopher Dudley, Mike & Diane Davies, and David Davies. His grandchildren: Sarah and Sam Petrie, Kaleb and Joshua Davies, and Morgaine and Macsen Baumann. He is also survived by his brother Clyde Davies and family.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 7th at 1:00pm. Located at Community of Christ in Ridgefield, WA, 400 Northeast 179th Street, Ridgefield, WA 98642.
