Sena Jo Nelson, 69 years of age of Vancouver, Washington, lost her battle with lymphoma on the 14th day of June 2016 at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.
Sena was born on the 1st day of September, 1946 in Walla Walla, Washington. Daughter of Marjorie Anna Hesket and Clayton Joseph Knight and sister to Michael French.
Sena is survived by her eldest daughter, Lori Shane, daughter of Michael Warren Shane and daughter, Lani Pollichronakis, daughter of Lawrence A. Nelson. She is also survived by 6 grandaughters, Megan, Michaela, Ashley, Alexis, Alexandria and Zoe. Four great grandchildren, Averyonna, Michael, Ava and Sena.
Sena attended DeSalles Catholic School. Later attending the Culinary Institute of America in New York City, receiving certification as an Executive Chef. Sena and her second husband, Lawrence opened two successful Italian restaurants, Umberto's in Spokane, Washington. Sena retired as an Executive Chef with Red Lion Hotels.
In 2004 Sena moved to Vancouver, Washington. She was an active member of New Heights Church. She spent her time volunteering and attending bible study with her sisters in Christ, Quest.
Services will be held at New Heights Main, 7913 NE 58th Avenue, Vancouver, Washington 98665 at 11:00 a.m. on the 16th day of July 2016. Pastor William Heck officiating.
