Phyllis Kathleen "Kathy" Andres ~ 62 Vancouver, Washington September 5, 1953 ~ June 5, 2016 Our beautiful and courageous mother lost her battle with cancer on June 5th. If you were not aware, Kathy was diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal cancer 17 years ago. With the help of her extraordinary oncologist Dr. Walter Urba, she fought hard against her initial life expectancy of only a few years. For the first 16 years mom was still very independent and fighting the battle, but unfortunately her health declined in the last year. We are so grateful to have had all of these extra years to spend with her, and are very happy that our children and her other grand children are old enough to have made their own memories with her. They had a chance to get to know what an incredible person she was to all of us. To know our mother is to love her. She is so much to so many. She was a trusted friend, confidant, sister, daughter, mother, grandmother, hero, teacher and above all someone who loved unconditionally. Her humanity and caring are traits that we will try to emulate for the rest of our lives. To say she will be missed is the understatement of our lives. We want to say thank you to all the wonderful family and friends who visited this past week. It showed just how many lives she touched in a positive way. We also want to thank the team of nurses and staff at Community Home Health & Hospice for such wonderful support for her end of life care. She was preceded in death by her mother Annamay Freeman (Spencer), her father Lawrence Burl Freeman, her brother John Freeman, her brother Matt Freeman, her son Rolando A. Andres and her grandchild Havala Durden. She is survived by her children, Havala Flores and her husband Nicolas Flores, Jonathan Andres and his girlfriend Jamie Knapp; grandchildren, Nicolas Flores, Isabella Flores, Jackson Andres, Brianna Durden; her great grandchild, Andrew; her siblings, Peggy Leonard, Lawrence Freeman, Edward Freeman; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers please send donations to: https://www.onwardohsu.org/donation/take-down-cancer-0 We will forever cherish our mother and the beautiful memories she has left us. Though her physical form is gone, the lessons and love that she gave to us will live on forever. We love you mom, Hav and Joff
