Obituary of Selder Emery Lishan Jr.

SELDER "SEL" EMERY LISHAN, JR. February 8, 1935 ~ January 18, 2015 On January 18th, 2015 Sel Lishan retired to that great fishing hole in the sky. Born February 8th, 1935 to Ella and Selder, Sr, in Portland, OR, Sel lived a full life. He was a man of many hobbies over the years, with fishing and photography being favorites. Along the way he took up Scuba Diving (fishing and taking photos underwater), woodworking, including carving duck decoys, and golfing. In his earlier and middle age he enjoyed hunting with his buddies. After a stint in the Air Force, in Arkansas, he moved back out west to become a Plumber and Steamfitter. He operated his own plumbing business for many years in Vancouver, Washington. He was a family man. With his wife, Jan, he had 5 children_Colleen, Teresa, Stuart, Timothy, and Scott. He also had a daughter, Kimberly, with his first wife, Betty. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Baughman, son-in-law, Gary, granddaughters, Haley Payne and Brittany Waddell, and great-granddaughters, Kenley, and Austyn, all of Arkansas. He is also survived by his daughter, Colleen Welch, sons, Timothy and Scott, daughter-in-law, Lori, son-in-law, Tim, grandsons, Kyle, Dillon, Connor, and Nolan, and great-grandson, Grayson. Sel was preceded in death by his wife, Jan (2009), son, Stuart (2008), and daughter, Teresa (1970). A Memorial is planned for Feb. 8, 2015 from 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. at the house (2708 NE 53rd St., Vancouver, WA). Come share memories, and celebrate Sel's life.
