BRIDGET "THERESA"
(MAGUIRE) THOMPSON
December 18, 1929 ~ January 18, 2015
Bridget "Theresa" Thompson passed peacefully on January 18, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born December 18, 1929, one of 13 children of Hugh and Bridget Maguire in Ayshire, IA. In 1952, she married William "Bill" Thompson and they were happy together for 56 years until his death. Theresa was committed to social causes, especially those that protected children and she was a peace activist for her entire adult life. A registered nurse, she volunteered countless hours with the Red Cross, local community clinics and school districts. She loved to play cards and dance with her husband. She used her freezer to the fullest, was the family ping-pong champion, and hated to have her picture taken.
She was preceded in death by her son Bill.
She leaves four children: Daniel (Jill) of Boise, ID, Matthew of Chico, CA, Robert (Veronika) of Wakefield, RI, and Mary (Gregor) Pierce of Vancouver, WA; and eleven grandchildren, all of whom will miss her beyond words.
A celebration of Theresa's life will be held on February 20, 2015, in the historic Red Cross Building, 605 East Barnes Street, Vancouver, WA 98661.
