ALBERT "CORKY" MANCUSO August 9, 1949 ~ March 27, 2016 Corky passed away March 27, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born on Aug. 9, 1949 on the Italian Eastside of St. Paul, MN to Albert and Jacqueline Mancuso. He spent much of his childhood in the home of his first Italian generation grandparents (Gabriel and Santa Mancuso), he spoke broken English and was required to go to speech classes when he entered the first grade. Corky was a very proud Marine, serving four years in the corp with a tour of duty in Vietnam where he was exposed to Agent Orange. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Martha, after knowing each other 5 days, they were married in Missoula, MT and spent 47 wonderful years together. In 1969, Marc was born and in 1970, Emily was born. Corky coached Little League for Columbia, Evergreen, and Ridgefield. He was a basketball coach for CYO and a 4-H leader for a horse club. One of the biggest pleasures of his life was watching Anthony and Alyssa in any activity they had. Corky is survived by his wife, Martha, mother, Jackie Mancuso; son, Marc (wife, Sanjana) and his grandchildren, Anthony and Alyssa; and his daughter, Emily Brooks (husband Kevin). Services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes, 4723 NW Franklin St., Vancouver, WA 98663 on Thurs., April 7th at 1p.m., with a luncheon to follow. The family wishes to give special thanks to the Portland VA for their excellent care!
