We as wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings, friends say goodbye to Ray Wildman, age 86, as we know he is now in the arms of our Lord Jesus and with family that has gone before him.
Ray was born in Laramie, Wyoming to Daniel Dwight Wildman and Nellie Arretta (Berry) Wildman. They later settled in Colby, Kansas. He has three siblings, sister Moya and brothers, Daniel Duane and David. At sixteen he moved to Milton-Freewater, Oregon, attended school and lived with an Aunt and Uncle for a short time.
Ray's Survivors include his wife Pat, son Ron (Marilyn), daughters Linda (Dennis) Marchese and Janean (Jim) Sams, and daughters-in-law Lani Wildman and Pam Wildman and three stepsons, Bruce (Eileen),Gregory and Michael Broadwater. Ray's first love and wife Geneva and their sons Raymond and Richard (Rick) preceded him in death. Ray married Pat Broadwater in 2000 and in blending the families there were twenty four grandchildren, forty seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Ray worked at many jobs as a child earning his way into the movies and swimming pool. As an adult he worked in production at a fruit and vegetable processing plant in Milton-Freewater, Oregon and for Lyndon Farms processing chickens in Portland,Oregon. For many years he was a projectionist for movie theaters and drive in theaters. He retired in 1994 and became very active in walking, water aerobics and fitness in general. As a young man he was also very active in civic activities. He was instrumental in the Jr. Chamber of Commerce float building for the M-F Pea Festival and the many parades in various towns. He was president of the organization for several years and won many awards for his leadership skills. Ray was an avid hunter and enjoyed many hours in the mountains in Eastern Oregon until moving to Vancouver, Washington in 1978. After retirement he became very active in organizing and the construction of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, the 27th of October at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 16001 NE 34th Street, Vancouver, Washington, with a graveside service on Thursday, October 29th in Milton-Freewater, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to go to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
