Norman Roy Jenkins ~ 57 Kelso, Washington November 9, 1957 ~ October 7, 2015 Norman Roy Jenkins entered into peaceful rest on October 7, 2015 at the age of 57. Norman was born in Eureka, California on November 9. 1957. He was the eldest of three children born to Helen Chapman and the late Norman F. Jenkins. He attended Franklin Elementary School, Zane Junior High and graduated from Eureka Senior High school in 1975. Throughout his school years, he was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts to which he earned several awards. He also attended College of the Redwoods and obtained an Emergency Medical Technician certificate. After joining the Army National Guard and going active duty, he was stationed in California for many years. After receiving an Honorable discharge from the Army, he moved to Tracy, California and worked at Tracy Defense Depot. In April 2015, he moved to Kalama, Washington to be near family. His hobbies, included bowling, hunting and fishing; he shared his love of fishing with his children when they were young, thus leaving them with fond memories of fishing adventures with their Dad. Norman is survived by his four children; son Aaron Jenkins of Eureka, California, daughter Michelle Jenkins of Damascus, Oregon, son Cody Jenkins of Portland, Oregon and son Casey (Emma) Jenkins of Vallejo, California. Also surviving him are his mother and step father, Helen and Ernie Chapman of Kelso, Washington, two sisters, Sandy Sterling and Linda Gideon, of Kelso, Washington, nephews Skyler (Macy) Bruhy and Dustin Gideon, nieces Sara (Eric) Hausken and Savannah Gideon as well as great nephews and nieces Wesley, Kaidon, Ryleigh, Tessa, Gabriel, Hailey and Atticus. He also leaves behind three Uncles, three Aunts, and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Norman F. Jenkins, his maternal grandparents Lawrence (Babe) and Grace DeBeni and paternal Grandparents Isaac L. Jenkins and Grace Jenkins Leach as well as several Uncles, Aunts and cousins. At Norman's request, there will be no funeral service. Arrangements are under Cascadia Cremation and Burial Services. Burial with full military honors will take place at Willamette National Cemetery in Happy Valley, Oregon on November 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations in Norman's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses & staff at OHSU and Community Home Health & Hospice in Vancouver, Washington for their wonderful care during Norman's brief illness.
