Obituary of James Derrick Chick

James Derrick Chick ~ 20 Nicknames: Spud, Bubba, Cheeks Ridgefield, Washington January 20, 1995 - September 30, 2015 James Derrick Chick came into this world on 1/20/1995 at 3:23 AM in Portland, Oregon. Room 303 at the Bess Kaiser Medical Center, he weighed 7 LBS 8oz. and was 21" long. Oh what a blessing we received that day. He was a beautiful child with a heart of gold. Big blue eyes, blonde hair and a smile that would melt your heart. His father & I could not have asked for a better child than James. James started out in Little Lambs Preschool and he finished up attending Ridgefield High School for a while. He left high school and got his GED. While in Ridgefield he made some wonderful life- long friends. He was very passionate about his friends. He loved music one of his favorite songs was Black & Yellow, one of his all-time favorite movies growing up was SandLot. He must have watched it a thousand times. He loved Chicken & Dumplings he always asked for them. His favorite color was black. And every year on his Birthday would ask for a homemade Carrot Cake, his favorite. Growing up he had a dog named Dexter who was his best friend and a fish he named, Dog. Has a little boy he would sing the theme song from the tv show touched by an angel. He loved Star Wars, fast cars and pretty girls. His family was very important to him. He loved them the only way he knew how. His little bro was one of the most important people to him. He would spend many hours telling his friends how funny his little bro was and how much he missed him. They would talk on the phone for hours about everything. It was a blessing to see them together. James knew the lord, but he lost his way and he took his own life on Wednesday September 30, 2015. He leaves behind his Mother, Sherry Huff and Father, Terry Chick. His step parents, Elizabeth Chick and Duane Huff. He also leaves behind his younger siblings Jessica and Jake. Joselyn & (Allen), Austin & (Kelsey), Audrey & (Kevin), He leaves his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and niece's. He also left behind some very good friends. We will be having an open house gathering to honor our son, James. At his family home in Ridgefield, WA. 10/10/2015 11am - 4pm for his family & friends.
