Obituary of Dorothy Jean Davies

Dorothy Davies, of Vancouver, WA, age 85, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Milton and Alice Clow, her husband Cecil, sister Shirley Frates, and brother Milton Clow. She is survived by daughters Valerie Hogan (Chris Baumann), Laura Dudley, and Debbie Petrie (Keith), sons David and Mike Davies, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and her brother David Clow. Dorothy loved her family, and was a talented pianist and vocalist, at times serving as choir director for her church. Dorothy also enjoyed her garden, reading, puzzles, board games, and especially loved the roses and other flowers in her yard. It brought her great joy to share her flowers with others. Dorothy was a life-long member of the Community of Christ church and attended the South Ridge Congregation. Dorothy was an ordained minister and faithfully served as a teacher for many years. Dorothy grew up in San Diego, graduating from San Diego State University with her Bachelor's degree in teaching, and taught elementary school for several years. Dorothy is buried at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland Oregon, with her husband Cecil. Per her request, there will be no public service. Memorial donations may be made to Heifer International, Outreach International, Open House Ministries, or Vancouver Humane Society.
