Thomas Roche Stassens passed away in his home on September 1, 2021 at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 22, 1940 in Portland, Oregon. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Jules and Theresa, and his dear sister, Barbara Collins. Tom is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn; sons, Tom and John; daughters-in-law, Lacey and Missy; grandchildren, Taylor, Brady, Madison, Tommy, and Holly; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Oceana, Soffia, Meadow, and Anders; and his brother-in-law, Ron Collins, whom he loved like a brother. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Tom retired from DSU Peterbilt & GMC in 2006 after working 48 years at a job that he loved. After retirement he enjoyed his time wintering in Arizona. His hobbies included restoring old cars, going to car shows, camping, boating, and water skiing but mostly he loved spending time with his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude or Doernbecher Children's Hospitals. Due to the current shortage of blood, donations made to the Red Cross in Tom's honor are also greatly appreciated. Celebration of Life will be held Friday September 17th @ Royal Oaks Country Club in Vancouver at 2:00 pm. Light appetizers will be served.
