Bonnie Bernice (Waddle) Mersereau
July 28, 1946 ~ August 27, 2015
Bonnie Bernice (Waddle) Mersereau passed away peacefully August 27, 2015 at the age of 69 in Vancouver, Washington. She was born in Portland, Oregon on July 28, 1946 to Wesley and Christine (Baisch) Waddle.
After graduation from Battle Ground High School in 1964, she traveled the world as a military wife with her first husband, Charlie Scheiwiller. She moved back to Vancouver in 1980 where she married her husband of 34 years, Rick Mersereau June 6, 1981 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Vancouver, Washington. She met Rick at Airco Gases when she started working as a receptionist and he was the dispatcher. They continued to work until her retirement as a stocking site manager 36 years later. Bonnie really did view working with her husband as a blessing, as they were able to spend even more time with one another. She also enjoyed exploring the Oregon Coast, traveling, gardening, antiquing and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Willis Waddle; sister, Wanda Rolls; and step-daughter, Linda Metscher. She is survived by her husband, Rick Mersereau, Vancouver, Washington; daughter, Dawn (Jeff) Hartung, Vancouver, Washington; son Chuck (Shannon) Scheiwiller, Spokane, Washington; step-daughters, Liz Mersereau of Vancouver, Washington and Christine Valdez, Vancouver, Washington; 11 grandchildren; sister, Sharon Belisle, Vancouver,Washington; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
The Family would like to thank the doctors and care specialists at the Providence Hospital ALS Clinic, and the ALS support groups for both patients and caregivers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bonnie's name to the Oregon and Southwest Washington ALS Chapter (www.alsa-or.org).
