May his memory be eternal.
I’m thoroughly going to miss this guy! What a hoot! I knew him for about a year on the Internet. As he was a 14 year retired chef at the Marriott. He said he wrote a cookbook and published videos for them too. He had no family to speak of, except his grandmother when he left for Vietnam. And she passed before he came home. He never married, but had lots of women. And he only ever met one that he wanted to marry. Thank you for your service, Sir!
Love, Calmnotes

I just found out that David has passed. This makes me so sad. My family and I really enjoyed cooking the recipes he posted on Gab.
He inspired me so much. Because of him I started to be more adventurous in the kitchen. He will be sorely missed.

I only knew David for a short time on Gab, I am honored that he considered me a friend and feel blessed to of called him my friend if only during the brief time we knew each other. Many of us there enjoyed his numerous recipe posts and many others were blessed to converse and build friendships with David. He will surly be missed.
RIP my friend David, you will be missed greatly.
May Creation keep your soul and may your many friends keep your memory.
Amen.

I used so many of David's recipes for Christmas last year, and got compliments on all of them. I was anticipating scouring his recipe posts on Gab to impress everyone this year too. He was always friendly, and took time to acknowledge everyone. I appreciate his time and energy he spent, and although our time is short on this earth, I am glad he used some of his to touch our lives. RIP David.

This photo is from David's gab page, he served in 'Nam during the war. David knew so much about cooking and loved sharing his tips for cooking success with anyone who wanted to learn. Prayers for all those who love and miss him.

I adopted David as my uncle once we got over our respective introspection. I hope to be provided with information about his services so that I might attend.

David Was a Great Man, liked by many fans of his culinary posts online, as one commenter here has mentioned, David was a Member of a Social Networking Service Called GAB. David's presence on GAB shows that much more occurs there than politics, and David was Living Proof. David had a Group on GAB called "food recpies, cooking tips," and maintained a Web Site on WordPress called Thyme. David's Group Name from GAB is copied verbatim, notice the misspelled recipe and the hanging comma is just the way David wrote, I'm not going to change it now.
Respectful of the Funeral Home offering this listing, I am not trying to provide direct links to those sites, but David's WordPress Site can be found on Google Searching for "David Spriggs Thyme" and looking for a near the top search result that says mydavid725, you'll see the Word Press as part of that link.
David was Brusque, but the job I retired from not that long ago prepared me for that, that is the way some men are, and if you don't expect them to comply with some social norm, they can (and in David's case, did) become civil and friendly, I experienced it several times at work over the years. But despite this tough exterior, there was a man inside that loved talking to people, sharing recipes, and helping with food related issues.
A photo David used on his Group and Blog, I'm not sure of the Details. The other Two Photos David Added to his Blog, and likely Shared on GAB, and he found them very Important.
May David Rest in everlasting peace in God's presence.
