Obituary of Beatrice Marie Pool

Please share a memory of Beatrice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beatrice Marie Pool was born in May of 1945 in Glendale California to Ernie and Marie Rasmussen. She was the youngest in the family and had five siblings; Alice, Joyce, Loyd, Fern and Dave. Her family moved from California to southern Oregon when she was around 2 years old. They moved one more time to Jacksonville Oregon just a few years later, where she lived until she married Bob Croucher right after graduating from High School. Bea settled into married life in Medford Oregon and had four children with Bob; Bob Jr., Becky, Rene’e and Randy. Bob and Bea divorced in the late '70s but happily, she met Jim Pool in 1978 and it was love at first sight. Soon thereafter, they moved to Vancouver Washington where they were married in 1980. Jim brought two children into the relationship from his previous marriage; Rob and Stacy. They now had their own little Brady Bunch family with three boys and three girls between them. Beatrice was in banking for over 15 years before becoming a real estate agent. Jim and Bea owned and managed ERA Borge LeDoux Real Estate/ERA Expert Realty for over 12 years before selling the business. Upon retirement, they moved to Rocklin California where they made many new friends and enjoyed the sunnier climate. Jim and Bea missed their family too much and moved back to southern Washington, eventually moving into their current home on Horseshoe Lake in Woodland Washington. This was one of Bea's happy places and she loved to look out upon the lake, park and mountains every day. Bea had numerous hobbies; mostly anything artistic. She was an oil painter for many years and also enjoyed scrapbooking, card-making and beading. She spent many hours in her “shop” which is really a giant craft room full of every art form you can imagine. She came from a family of “gamers” and continued that tradition with her children and grandchildren; there was hardly a week that would go by without a card or board game being played around the dining room table. Sometimes there were even multiple games being played at multiple tables. Holidays were filled with laughter, food and family. Christmas was Bea's favorite holiday and she would truly "deck the halls", replacing almost every picture and knick-knack with her Christmas-themed treasures. While Bea was planning her own obituary, Jim jokingly said that it should mention that she was not only a pleasant person to be around, but that she never, ever had a bad hair day. She got a good chuckle out of that, so here it is, and frankly, it's true. Beatrice passed peacefully at home on Saturday October 3rd, surrounded by the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and two of her sisters. She leaves behind three siblings, her loving husband Jim, their six children, fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She has another great-granddaughter on the way. Bea also leaves behind numerous extended family members and many friends. Everyone who knew her was truly blessed by her generous spirit. She was a most-beloved matriarch and life will not be the same without her on this earth, but we can rest assured that heaven has another beautiful angel looking down upon us all with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her bright blue eyes. Due to national and local COVID restrictions, no memorial service will be held. Condolences can be sent to the family in care of Becky Brock, 12009 SE 11th Street, Vancouver, WA 98683.
