Obituary of Allen Lee Morgan

Please share a memory of Allen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Allen Lee Morgan “Al” passed away on September 15th, 2020 after a hard fought battle with kidney cancer. Allen was born in Yreka, CA to Richard and Betty Morgan. They lived in Mt. Shasta before moving to Sacramento, CA, San Jose, CA and then on to Medford, OR. He attended North Medford Senior High where he graduated in 1973. That is also where he met and fell in love with his wife, Michele. They were married on September 27th, 1975. They would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this month. They had 2 children, Nick and Amanda. Al worked as a log trucker for 46 years. He was respected and loved by the logging community, and he truly loved his work. His skill was an art form. Once you watched him execute a multi-point turn on a dirt logging road with inches to spare before the road dropped off to a cliff, you’d understand the amazing skill and competence it takes to do what he did. He worked long, hard hours to ensure his family was provided for. There was nothing more important to Al than family. He often said that nothing made him happier than being surrounded by his kids and grandkids. He loved traveling with Michele, the kids, and often times extended family as well. Disneyland was a much loved family tradition, Al could always be counted on to ride every ride, big or small. Golf was another love for Al. He played nearly every weekend. He loved spending time with his golf buddies on the course and off and looked forward to their annual golf weekend every year. He was thrilled to have landed a hole in one a few years ago, an accomplishment recognized with his photo in the Medford Mail Tribune newspaper. Al and Michele moved to Brush Prairie two years ago to be closer to their kids and grandkids. Al’s passing has left a huge hole in many lives, he was truly one of the greats and will be missed beyond measure. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Michele; his son Nick (Trish) Morgan, his daughter Amanda (Keegan) Anderson; his grandkids; Justin Morgan, Dylan Hackmann, Taylor Hackmann, Liam Anderson, Camden Whittington, Quinn Whittington, Amelie Whittington and Lily Anderson; his brother Phil (Pam) Morgan, his niece Natalie Morgan, his nephew Christopher Morgan, and his mother Betty Morgan. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Morgan and his sister Connie Morgan. A graveside memorial will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 26th, 2020 at Mt. View Cemetery in Amboy, WA.
