August 28, 1940 ~ July 10, 2020
Lee passed away at 79 on July 10, 2020 in Vancouver, WA.
Lee was a Sgt. Major when he retired from the Army, after serving our country for 30 years; twenty in
the medical field and educating nursing students in Tacoma. Lee’s military service included 6 years in
Hawaii and 16 years out of county in Vietnam and Germany.
After his military retirement Lee continued in the nursing field, working 10 years at the Washington
State hospital in Steilacoom.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary and two of his four children, Jerry Basnett and Cheryl Conway, 9
grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He loved fishing, hunting, RVing and his art, creating all types of projects. He loved life (and pranks) with
family and friends.
He is preceded in death by two of his children Carla Basnett and Terry Basnett and one grandchild,
Austin Holteen.
Due to Covid restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date
