Obituary of Ronald Floyd Venard Sr.

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ronald Floyd Venard Sr, born April 24th, 1946, and passed away on August 22, 2019 at the age of 73. Born and raised in the Olympia/Chehalis area, he moved to Longview and began working at Reynolds Aluminum in 1968, retiring from there in 1999 after 30+ years.

He is survived by his brothers Walter and Melvin Venard as well as his sister Beverly Rector. His children; Benny Richard Venard, Ronald Floyd Venard Jr, Treesa Helen Marie Olson, Zachery Erwin Pond, Randy Ray Jessen, Jason Robert Richter, Patricia Renee Moore, and Renee Ann Johnson. His grandchildren, Daniel Venard, Taylor Lindsay (Jamie), Brooke Andersen (Broc), Madison Olson (Luke), Kaden Olson (Chloe) Legend Anderson, Rise Anderson, Haley Albright (Zach), Talon Venard, Samantha Venard (Hyrum) and Shelby Hamby, great grandchildren, Marlie Andersen, Asher Lindsay, Chevy Krause, Lyric Albright, Sage Albright, and his friend, the beady eyed little man boy Michael Hamby.  He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Venard and Helen Berg Venard, youngest son Tyson Victor Venard and great grandchildren Phoenix Robinson and Hope LaMott.

His life was an adventure of marriages, children, vacations, hunting, boating, fishing, skiing, and going to the casinos. A sure way to put a smile on his face was to buy him scratch tickets. He loved going out for coffee, often with friends and family. The Woodshed Restaurant, The Pantry, The Carriage and The Indy Café were among his favorite hangouts. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grand father, friend to many and has left behind countless great memories for us. Ron’s sense of humor was twisted with lots of funny comments sure to make everyone laugh.

After retiring he began having health issues which was later revealed to be Parkinson’s. He has bravely dealt with his deteriorating health, keeping his sense of humor and sense of adventure, moving several times over the years to various parts of the state, eventually living with his daughter as he needed more assistance. After his long struggle he gently passed, in the comfort of her love, to the everlasting light of Our Father’s home to be reunited with those whom he has loved and lost.

We would like to give special recognition to Gayle Lord, for her selfless dedication in helping care for him during his last year at their daughter’s house. Her love and support made it possible for us to honor his wishes to stay in the home until he passed. Plus, he loved pinching her butt! And to all the other people that helped care for dad during his illness, much appreciation is given to you as well.

Cremation has taken place by Cascadia Cremation and Burial and a Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held in his honor at Riverside Park 1820 Westside Highway, Kelso WA 98626 on September 21st, 2019 @ 1’oclock pm. Food will be served, and side dishes are welcome.
