Randall J. Syverson, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on May 19th, 2019, in his hometown of Vancouver, WA. Randy was born on November 16th, 1963, in Morris, MN, to parents Myron and Marilyn Syverson. He was a graduate of Morris High School in 1982, and following graduation he entered the Navy. He served our country on the USS Callaghan stationed in San Diego, CA, from 1983-1989. He then moved to Rainier, OR, where he married Laura Scott in 1990. They had two daughters, Nicole Syverson (28) and Briana Syverson (24) and moved to Vancouver, WA. Randy was employed by Portland General Electric most of his career where he was a Real Time Energy Trader. He retired in 2016 and then drove truck for Napa Auto Parts and Atech Logistics & Distribution. Randy’s greatest pleasures were spending time with his daughters and granddaughter, Laylah, and an annual week on Lake Minnewaska in Glenwood, MN, with his parents and sister’s family. Randy very much enjoyed the outdoors whether it was camping, hiking mountains, white water rafting, spontaneous drives to the ocean, downhill as well as water skiing, and boating on the Columbia River. Randy also had a strong relationship with his Savior and had a passion for Christian rock music. He even managed the sound board at one point for his friends’ band, “Liquid Grace.” He is survived by his daughters, Nicole and Briana; his granddaughter, Laylah Walker; his parents, Myron and Marilyn Syverson; his sister, Jodi (Mick) Ramboldt; his niece, Teagan Ramboldt, as well as a few living aunts and uncles and many cousins whom he loved dearly. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, June 29th at First Lutheran Church in Morris, MN. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a service starting at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch for friends and family.
