Richard Charles Lewis passed away on April 20, 2019 at his home with loved ones by his side. There will be a celebration of his life planned for Saturday April 27, 2019.
Richard was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but grew up in North Highlands, California. He was the first child of Jo Ann (Fleming) and Richard A. Lewis. He had three younger siblings, Cathy, Eddie, and Steve. After serving four years in the Navy, he continued his path of public service and worked his entire career for the Department of Veterans Affairs. He loved baseball his whole life, and always participated in the office softball team, traveling to Reno every year for their tournament. In his free time, he loved being outdoors, camping, fishing, golfing - anything that kept him outside. He moved up to Portland in 1972, where he married Vicki Louthan and raised his family. He moved to Washington DC for work in 1999, bringing his son Aaron with him. After retirement he moved back to the Pacific Northwest in 2006, spending his last years in Yacolt, Washington with his significant other, surrounded by nature.
Richard is survived by his two children, Aaron and Sarah, grandchildren Tristan and Kaiden, his younger sister Cathy, baby brother Steven, his significant other Marlene Torvik, his Aunts Charlene Fleming and Shirley Lewis, Uncles Roger Lewis and Doug Lewis, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Eddie Lewis.
