My heartfelt condolences to the family for the loss. Mr. Allington was a wonderful teacher and I had thought of him often and, after many attempts, I’ve tried to locate him again for several years. This notice shocked me. He will be missed dearly by me.

Tom was my roommate and best friend while we were stationed at Yale University, Institute of Far Eastern Languages in New Haven, CT, in 1961. He invited me to his family's home in Corning, NY, for a week-long summer leave; my home was in Montana, too far to travel on an Airman's pay. That trip gave me a new family and memories to treasure for a lifetime. When he was assigned to a new duty station that Christmas, we both cried while I helped carry his duffel to the Greyhound station. Rest in peace, Tom. You are a fine soldier!
