She prided herself on running the household ad helping Bud with his aviation business at Pearson Airport. Until the last couple of months she played the piano beautifully and had never had a lesson. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting many an afghan. Katie shared Bud’s love of flying and traveled with him at every chance. In 1959 she took flying lessons and even soloed before family responsibility stopped her.
