Cathy A. Dukes

Cathy Alene Dukes (neé Campbell), 68, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away on January 19th, 2019 in Vancouver, Washington.

Cathy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Herman and Elizabeth Campbell on April 8th, 1950. She went to high school at Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She went on to study nutrition at the University of Idaho. Cathy enjoyed working as a sign language interpreter at various times, receiving certification in ASL. Cathy lived most of her life doing her favorite work of being a loving wife, an excellent mother, and a homemaker to her family for all of her years.

Cathy enjoyed lifelong learning, hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, spending time outdoors; reading; studying the Bible; sewing, weaving, and embroidery; cooking and trying new recipes; playing games; and spending time with her family. Cathy spent countless hours of her life volunteering at various organizations, earning her several letters of recognition and appreciation.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Richard Dee Dukes, Jr. of Vancouver, Washington. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Forest Dukes (and his wife Melissa), Eli Dukes (and his wife Tracey), and Wesley Dukes; her grandchildren Caden Dukes, Asher Dukes, Saylor Dukes, and Connor Dukes; her sister Vicki Robbins; and her brother John Campbell; and numerous other family. Cathy is preceded in death by her Father, Herman Campbell; Mother, Elizabeth Campbell; Brother, Buddy Campbell; and Brother, David Campbell.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Vancouver Church of Christ on February 23rd, at 10:00 AM. Cathy will be laid to rest in Willamette National Cemetery.
