Jerry was a good man with a strong ethic of service to others. I had the pleasure and privilege of training and working with him as one of the medics in his Seattle Mountain Rescue Medic Program. He was also instrumental in my getting a job as a backcountry and climbing ranger at Mount Rainier when I was in grad school in the 70s. I learned a lot from him and shared a lot of laughs along the way. My condolences to Jerry’s family.

I remember Jerry as Scoutmaster, First Aid Instructor, Mountain Rescue Medic, Park Ranger, co-worker, freind of my friends and family man. He was a very caring and encourgaing guy. I also recall watching Jerry kindly treat a Scout for a miner injury at Camp Sheppard. I asked his advice about climbing Mt Baker in 1969. He said we were trained and ready, if we had favorable conditions, go for it, We did and had a perfect climb.
I liked Jerry very much and consider it a blessing to have known him.
