Gary P Deschand, 66 of Ridgefield, WA passed away on October 4th, 2018 in Vancouver, WA.  Gary was born in Chewelah, WA to Isabelle (Moore) and Pete C. Deschand.  The family moved to Ridgefield when he was a child where he grew up and attended school.

Gary served briefly in the US Navy before returning to Ridgefield, WA.  Gary served his community as a Firefighter and EMT with the Clark County Fire and Rescue.  Starting as a volunteer and serving until retirement.
He had many hobbies fishing, hunting, bowling, gold mining and spending time with his family.  He belonged to gold mining clubs, GPAA and LDMA.
Gary is survived by his wife Lori of Ridgefield, WA and their four children; Jessica Hoffman of Caldwell, ID, Pete Deschand of Ridgefield, WA, Tonya Johnson of Homedale, ID and Dusty Deschand of Ridgefield, WA.  Four grandchildren; Chrystal Drink of Parma, ID, Isabell Hoffman (proudly serving aboard the USS Ronald Regan), Lori Lane Fink of Melba, ID and Carrie Hoffman of Caldwell, ID. Brothers Kelly Deschand of Camas, WA, Darrell Deschand of Brush Prairie, WA, and Sister Virginia Rasmussen of Idaho Falls, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pete & Isabelle Deschand and sister, Pearl Mainwairing.
There will be a celebration of life held on Thursday, October 11th, 2018 at 6:00PM at the Clark County Fire and Rescue Building, 911 N 65th, Ridgefield, WA
