I always enjoyed Nancy’s company & insight. Here is a fond memory I have of our friendship. At some point in time (maybe early 90’s) while working at ‘The Phone Company,’ she had shared with me she was looking for an old style typewriter for one of her young grandsons. I told her I had one in my attic & would gladly pass it on to her for her grandson. So I brought it to work one day & gave it to her. I believe it was a Smith Corona @ 4 in. tall, powder blue with a top that latched on. It happened to belong to my husband, his folks got it for him when he was in high school (late 60’s/early 70’s). He just learned today, as I write this that I gave away his typewriter. Maybe, one of the grandsons remembers this, if not, it’s OK. If you do, please let me know, I’m just curious.

Nancy was certainly a unique individual. Though years and miles have separated us since both of our families moved from Walla Walla we still think of her as a friend and remember her warm personality and caring interest in others.
John Donne wrote that no man is an island and if one clod should wash away we will all be the lesser for it.
This is certainly true of Nancy.
