Will, man you were a good fiend and help me through some difficult times. You were my BEST man at my wedding and supported me even though everyone else told me I was making a mistake. We spent many nights on top of mount 53 in the Persian Gulf , you taught me about astrology and I will miss you dearly. Fair winds and following seas brother, until we SAIL again. Love your Brother from another mother., BOZZ

Doug McKenzie Willem Bome will always be in my heart. A fourteen year old boy could not have asked for a better friend and fishing partner. I will always remember getting up before the sun to catch the bus on 121st street, so that we could ride it to Washington Square where we'd catch another bus to downtown Portland, where we'd catch yet another bus out to Oregon City so that we could get to high rocks and begin fishing for steelhead before the sun broke the horizon.
I'll always remember the hiking trip we took up Eagle Creek in the Columbia basin...fly-fishing for fat cutthroat trout in crystal clear pools below riffles and then cooking them over the fire and eating them with a ranger who just happened to be coming by when they were ready.
Spending many hours at the creek by his parents house, working on trails, building snares, shooting his bow and arrow, and generally muckin' about as young men do.
Hiking up the side of Bull Mountain over and over...with buckets of small largemouth bass and bluegills, which we'd transfer to a small pond hidden back in the trees...dreaming of creating our own secret fishing hole!
The thunderstorm at his parent's house when the lightning was so close to the ground that the electrical discharge sounded like a tesla coil instead of thunder and he and his brother's hair was floating about their heads like there was no gravity.
The fact that he could take any old ratty fly, cast it out into the water, and entice a fat trout to hit it.
Spending a late night up in a field on Bull Mountain looking at stars on a school night.
Feeling like I'd climbed as high as could be done, and then hearing him hollering, looking up, and seeing him poking out of the very top of a cedar tree in his back yard...arms flailing while he swung back and forth a good fifteen feet higher than I was.
Smiles, Laughter, Loyalty.
The time went by way too fast.
Willem Bome has been a blessing to each and every person he spent time with...and to those he fished with...the blessing was double

Every one of these comments makes me cry! I did not know Will well. Two things stand out for me. His immense artistic talent. His love for fishing. Both of those were God given. I remember one Thanksgiving, many years ago, we all joined hands to say what we were grateful for....Will said that he was grateful for Christine and for every, single specie of fish that existed! Everybody laughed! It was a special moment of joy for the whole family!

Laughter and eyes a twinkling are my memory of Will. Will is the only person I ever met that actually caught a fish in his bare hands! Thanks for being the "Bo" to my "Bim!" Blessings, laughter, and peace to you and your family.

There are so many memories to choose from... But most recently is of our coast trip where Will and Christine took the entire family to the coast for a week to go crabbing. With nothing but laughter and love that filled our time. I took with me my lucky baseball cap and while out on the boat, my hat flew off my head and into the water. With a sparkle in his eye, Will said " hold on " ... as he flipped that boat around at full speed, scaring the hell out of the rest of us... with laughter and a quick hand he netted up my baseball cap.. who knew it would become one of my most treasured items. It is unimaginable that we must continue this journey without you. I am so honored that you are my big brother. You will be forever missed.
Love-
Christopher

The hardest thing I’ve ever had to face, was losing you. I’ve had no sleep, since. Non stop nightmares. And all I can think of is having you back, and wishing we could have one last meal together, one last conversation, one last genuine hug, and one last smile. You are and always will be so loved. I wish we could’ve gone back a few years, and caught this cancer in time. I miss you dad, and I love you.

My thoughts and prayers are with Christine and family.
Will sold me my boat and taught me alot about fishing. Will taught me how to catch salmon with Brads cut plugs and pro-troll flashers. I introduced this technique to Sacramento California and now EVERYBODY uses this technique. Thanks Will. We will catch fish together someday buddy.

I never thought My first date with Will when he said: I want to take you fishing would lead to years of memory making with my best friend and soulmate. will opened me up to a passion for fishing I never knew I had. Will always told me he loved how excited I got when I caught fish and enjoyed watching me more than himself get that big one. There are so many memories of laughing, loving and fishing I can't even pick one...... if I have to I guess crabbing and trout fishing are my most favorite fishing memories with Will. I could not of even of dreamed my life would of been so good.... I love you Will Bome
