Obituary of Kathleen A. Lodholz
Kathleen Carr Lodholz
January 7, 1953 ~ July 3, 2018
Kathy was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Bill and Marj Carr. She grew up in a loving home with older brother Jeff and younger brother Jim. September 1, 1973 she married the love of her life Paul L Lodholz.
Her career as a medical transcriptionist spanned nearly three decades.
Kathy was very gifted and creative in a variety of handcrafting skills. She loved to knit, crochet, embroider and sew- transforming material and thread into exquisite finery. She delighted in hand crafting beautiful objects to fill her home and give to others, lovingly.
Kathy always had an ear to the outdoors, a love of nature, and a passion for the avian world. A pair of binoculars was always close at hand. She was passionate about her birding. Her backyard is a registered bird sanctuary.
In 2002 a soul searching hunger for greater purpose and direction resulted in a life altering encounter with Jesus. Through the subsequent years her faith grew and profoundly influenced those around her. She was an active member of New Heights Church for 16 years. Her faith was increasingly evident and visible in the last two and a half years of her illness. Her cheerfulness and gratitude, even at this most difficult time, was “Otherworldly.” She was an inspiration to all who know her.
A faithful and loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, she will be missed by all.
