Mark A. Rogen passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 21, 2018, at the age of 66, after a long and courageous battle with Frontotemporal dementia (Alzheimer’s Disease). Mark will be greatly missed and will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather who loved hiking, riding his motorcycle, traveling, and spending time with his family. Mark was born on January 24, 1952 in Vancouver, WA to Lester and Mary (née Bicknell) Rogen. He served as a Deputy Sheriff and later a Sergeant for the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office for 31 years, including eight years working as a police officer and one year as the Police Chief for the City of North Bonneville. Upon his retirement he spent one year as the Chief of North Bonneville, before retiring from police work and moving to Vancouver, WA. Mark is survived by his children, Mark Jr. (Victoria) and Meredith Rogen of Vancouver, WA; his adopted children, Lora Shinn of Seattle, WA, Andrew (Steffanie) Sampeck of Sutter, CA, and Emily Sampeck-Rogen of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Wyatt and Levi Rogen of Vancouver, WA, Isabelle and Emmitt Shinn of Seattle, WA, and Hannah Sampeck of Sutter, CA; his siblings, Dawn (née Rogen) Bainter and James Rogen of Vancouver, WA. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and by his adopted son, Michael Armatis.
