Obituary of Roy Franklin Morgan
Roy Franklin Morgan, longtime resident of Vancouver, WA, passed peacefully on July 12, 2017. He was born December 25, 1928 to Roy and Ortha Morgan in Buhl, ID.
Roy graduated from the University of Oregon in 1952. Immediately after graduation, he was accepted into the Naval Officers Candidate School and upon completion was assigned to duty in Korea. Among other assignments, Roy was a Communications Officer on the USS Aircraft Carrier Essex.
At the end of his service, Roy returned to the Northwest where he became a Manufacturer's Representative for Office Products and School Supplies.
Roy was an outstanding golfer all of his life, playing even recently to a single digit handicap. He played in tournaments throughout the Northwest and won many events. But as much as playing golf, Roy enjoyed passing on his knowledge and love of the game to others, most recently at the Hartwood Golf Course Learning Center where he made many friends.
Roy is survived by Carol, his wife of 54 years; sons, Curt and his wife, Treva of Vancouver and Joe of Gresham, OR; brothers, Boyd of Eugene, OR and Jerry of Poulsbo, WA.
Per Roy's wishes, there will be no services. Private internment will be in the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.
The family is deeply grateful for the support of PeaceHealth Hospice, as well as the Ray Hickey Hospice House.
In Loving Memory
Roy Morgan
