LEIGH HARRIS SKINNER CUNNINGHAM
July 17, 1917 ~ March 3, 2015
Leigh was born in Texas, lived 40 years in Corpus Christi, 40 years in Phoenix and Prescott, AZ, and moved to Vancouver, WA in 1997 to live near daughter Cyndy, son-in-law, Ed Dawson and granddaughter, Dayna Dawson.
Leigh's passionate zest for life
and great sense of humor leaves a legacy of joyous love in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
As a stylish Southern lady, she was not "dressed" until she had on her long earrings, high heels, and lipstick. She loved to sew, to read, to dance to 40's big band music, to score Mariner baseball games, to share her funny jokes, and to drive herself anywhere she wanted to go until age 93.
Sincerest praise go to Highgate Senior Living in Vancouver, WA, whose compassionate care for Leigh's last 2 years of life was unending. She first began Assisted Living there in 2013 and moved to Memory Care in the last 2 months.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Community Hospice in Vancouver, WA and to Alzheimer's Foundation.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Leigh
