Obituary of Roger Ray Luna

Please share a memory of Roger to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Roger Ray Luna September 29, 1981, to November 2, 2023 Roger Ray Luna sadly passed away November 2, 2023, at the age of 42 in Peace Health Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, WA. Roger was born September 29, 1981, in Newberg Oregon, to parents Jose G. Luna, and WanEllin S. Trull (nee Friend). Roger spent his childhood in McMinnville, Oregon where he continued to live as an adult until three years before his death. The elder brother of two boys, Roger, did his best to equally teach his brother to engage in shenanigans, and keep him out of trouble. Until his illness in 2016, Roger engaged in activities such as camping and fishing. Ironically, He loved to fish and go crabbing but you would never catch him eating them, especially the crabs; he was certain they were the spiders of the sea. Roger was an avid collector of many things; from bottles of wine to more tools than any human could possibly need. If anyone had wine from the Willamette Valley before 2017, there’s a good chance he helped to bottle it, as vineyard hand was his trade for quite a few years. He was a purveyor of random items. If you ever needed something, you could be certain there was Roger would have it. If it was a wild true story you wanted to hear, or something that strutted the line of the “Big Fish” tale, Roger was your guy. For those who knew and loved him, this was one of his greatest attributes. We will think of him every time we open a bottle of wine. We will miss him every time we hear a fellow spinning a tale. Roger was loved beyond measure and will be truly missed. He is survived by his mother, WanEllin Trull of Washougal, Washington, his brother (or as Roger would say Brogurt) Juan Luna and his sister-in-law Cassie Luna both of Copperas Cove, Texas, his nephews Lucas, Dominic, and Evan all of Texas, his niece Kalina of Vancouver, Washington, and his long-time best friend Dena Geiger of McMinnville, Oregon. Roger is preceded in death by his father Jose Luna, his stepfather Wayne Trull, his grandparents John and Wanda Friend, here they were sure to have been his welcoming party in the great beyond.
