Please share a memory of Clyde to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Clyde “Keith” Mayberry, Jr. was born on December 12th, 1950 on Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas to Clyde Keith Mayberry and Mary Jane (Terabasso) Mayberry of North Side Pittsburgh. He passed away on February 24th 2020 in Camas, Washington, at the age of 69. As a child, his family moved to Coraopolis, PA, where he grew up with his three younger brothers. He was greatly treasured by his relatives and many others in the community. He took great pride in becoming an Eagle Scout and enjoyed studying science, mathematics, and electronics in school, graduating from Montour High School in 1969. Keith was also a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. Keith was a proud Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy. He served as a radio mechanic on submarines based in Pearl Harbor from 1970 to 1977. After his honorable separation from the Navy, he earned his pilot’s license and became a beloved spotter for commercial fisherman along the west coast, from California to Alaska. In 1988, while based in Portland, Oregon, Keith welcomed his dear daughter, Christina Jo into the world. Wanting to spend more time at home, he became a general contractor. He enjoyed working with his daughter from a young age, teaching her how to measure, cut, and build. In 2004, he moved to Alaska where he worked as a contractor and eventually retired. In 2018, Keith moved back to Washington to spend time with his daughter and young granddaughters. During his last year, Keith began introducing himself as “Clyde the Glyde.” His greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughters. He also enjoyed watching football with his son-in-law Zach and bragging about his daughter becoming a nurse to anyone who would listen. Keith was an intelligent and charismatic man, filled with humor, kindness, positivity, and gratitude, which blessed all those he met along his life’s journey. He is survived by his daughter Christina Jo (Zach) DuBry and his granddaughters, Lexi Alane and Audrey Jo DuBry. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and friend. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends and family.
