Obituary of Laura Lea Davis

Laura Lea Davis ~ 67 Washougal, Washington February 28, 1949 ~ January 23, 2017 Washougal — Laura Davis , a long-time resident of the Washougal area, died peacefully at home on Monday January 28, 2017. Born in 1949 in Cook Nebraska she was the oldest of four children. She was a graduate of Chelan High School and received her associates degree in medical transcription in Vancouver, Washington in 1973; Laura worked in the medical insurance industry throughout her entire career. Laura been an active member of the Nazarene Church since her high school days in Chelan and was a member of the Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene in Vancouver. She loved the outdoors, camping and backpacking throughout the Pacific Northwest, including a 100-mile trek over 14 days on the Pacific Crest Trail. She was an avid photographer taking pictures on her trips of the wildlife and scenery and entering them in the county fair. She also loved gardening, sewing and reading Laura is survived by her sisters, Linda Moore and husband Jim of North Carolina, Beverly Bunker of Oregon and brother Mark Davis of North Carolina, nephews David Bunker and wife Lana of Connecticut, Robert Bunker and wife Tami of Oregon, Mike Bunker of North Carolina, niece Sarabeth Wilson and husband Robert Wilson of North Carolina. In addition, Laura had many nieces and nephews of which Nola Davis would accompany her on camping trips. Laura was preceded in death by her parents Sylvan A Davis Jr and Doris L Davis, brother in law Bob Bunker and grandparents Sylvan A. Davis and Freda Davis and Harold B Elledge and wife Thelma Elledge.
